Axogen closed its acquisition of BioCircuit Technologies on October 1, three weeks after agreeing to pay $200M in cash. The deal brings in NerveTape, which Axogen calls the first FDA cleared device for repairing transected peripheral nerves without sutures.
Axogen expects BioCircuit to contribute about $6M to fourth quarter 2026 revenue and about $34M in 2027. The Atlanta company also brings biomaterials work, precision Nitinol design and manufacturing, and bioelectronics for nerve stimulation.
Guiding $34M off an acquired device in its first full year is an aggressive number for a product whose competition is a technique rather than another product. Microsuturing costs nothing on the invoice, so the sales case has to be made in operating room minutes and in surgeon training time.
