B. Braun Medical is closing its Interventional Systems division. The unit expects to keep selling commercially through March 31, 2027, and the company says product supply faces no immediate disruption.
B. Braun called the closure part of an effort to streamline operations and concentrate resources on core businesses. It did not say how many employees are affected or which product lines go away. The division will work with suppliers to move customers to new distributors where that fits. Corporate vice president Bob Sowinski said supporting employees is the priority through the transition.
An 18-month sales runway is generous by the standards of these exits, and hospitals get time to requalify. Suppliers get less. Any contract manufacturer or component startup with volume inside that unit should ask about 2027 purchase commitments this month, not after the last order lands.
