The Mountain View, California company is building a focused ultrasound system that temporarily opens the blood-brain barrier so drugs and biomarkers can cross. It is designed to work without head fixation or live imaging during treatment, which is what makes an outpatient workflow plausible. FDA granted Breakthrough Device designation in neuro-oncology. Proceeds fund a first-in-human U.S. trial with support from the National Cancer Institute.
