Dexter is a soft-tissue surgical robot with wristed single-use instruments and a sterile console. The surgeon can move between robotic and laparoscopic steps in the same case. It needs no dedicated room and its open architecture works with a hospital's existing visualization towers. Nearly 3,000 patients have been treated across Europe and the U.S.
FDA authorization came in three steps. De Novo DEN230084 covered inguinal hernia repair in October 2024. K250435 added cholecystectomy on May 27, 2025. K251197 added total benign hysterectomy with salpingo-oophorectomy on September 30, 2025. The hysterectomy 510(k) took 166 days from receipt.
