GE HealthCare agreed to buy Sofie Biosciences for $945 million in cash. The companies announced the deal on October 5. It is expected to close in the first half of 2027.

Sofie runs 15 contract manufacturing sites across the United States and already makes GE HealthCare's Flyrcado, a flurpiridaz F18 injection. F18 tracers decay with a 110 minute half life, so a dose has to be produced close to the scanner that will use it. The site count is the asset in this deal.

The purchase also hands GE HealthCare US rights to FAPI-74, a pan-cancer PET tracer in Phase 3. GE HealthCare already held the rights outside the US. Sofie joins the pharmaceutical diagnostics business and stays an independent manufacturing partner to its other customers. GE HealthCare expects the unit to grow in the low double digits and to add to revenue growth, adjusted EBIT margin and adjusted earnings per share in the first full year of ownership.
