HistoSonics closed a $250 million growth financing on October 16, 2025. The round was led by the ownership group that acquired a majority stake in August at a $2.25 billion valuation. That consortium includes K5 Global, Bezos Expeditions and Wellington Management. Thiel Bio and Founders Fund came in as new investors.

The Minneapolis company sells the Edison system, which destroys tissue with focused ultrasound under real-time imaging and without heat, radiation or incisions. FDA granted De Novo authorization under DEN220087 on October 6, 2023 for liver tumors. Two follow-on 510(k)s, K233466 and K241902, cleared in 2024.

Money goes to new geographies and new indications. Enrollment in the HOPE4KIDNEY kidney trial finished in June 2025. The GANNON pancreatic cancer trial is enrolling, and a benign prostatic hyperplasia study is in preparation.

A $250 million equity raise on top of a fresh $2.25 billion buyout is unusual. It says the new owners want to fund the indication expansion themselves rather than wait for a public market.
