iRhythm Technologies agreed on August 10, 2026 to acquire VitalConnect for $287.5 million. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026.

VitalConnect makes VitalPatch, a wearable that monitors 21 arrhythmias plus vital signs and lasts seven days before it is replaced. iRhythm's Zio AT already serves about half of the mobile cardiac telemetry market and its Zio MCT is under FDA review. CEO Quentin Blackford told analysts that VitalPatch gives the company access to the entire market, which he put at about $1 billion with high single-digit growth, and about $500 million of incremental opportunity.

Blackford said iRhythm will prioritize integrating VitalPatch rather than wait for Zio MCT clearance, while staying committed to both products. The buyer is paying for a marketed device that fills the segments its own pipeline does not reach yet, the pattern to study for any startup selling into a market with one dominant incumbent.
