MedTech Innovator named 65 companies to its 2026 accelerator cohort on May 27, 2026, picked from 1,835 applicants. That is about 4%. Thirteen sit in specialty tracks: five with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, eight in a Heart and Brain Health program run with American Heart Association Ventures and Studio Red.
Named companies include UltraSight in cardiovascular imaging, Portal Instruments in drug delivery, Vektor Medical in cardiac mapping, Quantanosis.ai in neurotechnology, plus Approxima of Milan, Lucentia of New York, SonoVascular of Chapel Hill and Panda Surgical of London. The cohort spans 18 US states and 16 countries.
The program runs from a June 2 to 4 summit in San Francisco to early-stage finals on October 20 at The MedTech Conference in Boston, then mid-stage finals November 3 to 5 in San Diego. There is $800,000 in non-dilutive prize money. Corporate partners include Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Becton Dickinson, Dexcom, Edwards Lifesciences, Asahi Intecc, Samsung Research, Zimmer Biomet and Research Corporation Technologies.
MedTech Innovator also launched the MTI Index, which founder and CEO Paul Grand described as a time-banded benchmark tracking growth, survival and commercial traction. The accelerator counts 838 graduates, $12 billion in follow-on funding, 63 acquisitions and a 93% survival rate over the past decade. Those numbers are the pitch to a founder deciding whether to spend a summer on it.
