Okami Medical raised $45 million in a round announced November 19, 2025. Gilde Healthcare led as a new investor. Vensana Capital and U.S. Venture Partners, both existing backers, participated. The company did not attach a series letter to the round.
Okami, founded in 2017 in Aliso Viejo, California, sells the LOBO vascular occluder, a braided peripheral embolization device that replaces coils or plugs. FDA first cleared LOBO under K192083 on October 30, 2019. Later clearances added larger sizes under K220383 and the Sendero delivery catheters. The Sendero MAX cleared under K242644 in December 2024. The company cites an average time to occlusion of 90 seconds and case savings of $373 to $2,041 versus detachable coils.
Drew Hykes, who ran Inari Medical, becomes president and CEO, with Bill Hoffman as chairman. Proceeds go to the commercial footprint, clinical programs and new devices. Gilde's Geoff Pardo said the firm is partnering with Hykes again after Inari. That is the tell. This round bets on a commercial operator running an already cleared product.
