Philips ends the V60 ventilator line and Mindray moves into the gap

Philips Respironics has discontinued the V60 and V60 Plus hospital ventilators after years of corrections and recalls. Philips says it will service the installed base through December 2029 and keep parts available, which leaves hospitals a long runway and a decision to make.

Mindray launched the SV70 non-invasive ventilator into that gap on September 17. It is a turbine-driven single-limb platform, it takes Philips V60 accessories, and it runs the same touchscreen interface as the company's SV900 and SV700. Mindray entered the US ventilator market in March 2026 and plans demonstrations at the American Association for Respiratory Care Congress in November.

Accessory compatibility is the quiet part of that pitch. A respiratory department switching platforms usually eats a circuit and interface conversion, and designing that cost away is worth more than a spec sheet win. Medtronic left ventilators in early 2024, so this is the second incumbent to vacate the category in two years.
