Precision Neuroscience closed a $250M Series D. Pershing Square Inc., the Ackman Oxman Institute and a life sciences fund the company did not name co-led the round, which Precision called oversubscribed. Total funding now stands at $430M.
The New York company, founded in 2021, makes the Layer 7 Cortical Interface, a thin-film electrode array that rests on the surface of the brain instead of penetrating it. FDA cleared Layer 7 in 2025 for use up to 30 days. Precision reports more than 100 patient procedures across 18 institutions, and it owns the MEMS fab in Texas that makes the arrays. Medtronic has a commercial agreement to pair Layer 7 with its neurosurgical platform.
A 30-day clearance buys a short-term research footing, not a permanent implant, so the next submission is the one that decides whether this becomes a product. Capital keeps landing in the category regardless: MedTech Dive counts a $230M round for Science Corporation and $252M for Merge Labs. Duquesne Family Office, B Capital, ARK Invest, Invus, Mubadala Capital, Mirae Asset Capital, Korea Investment Partners, Hitachi Ventures and JSL Health Capital joined the Precision round. Chief executive Michael Mager said the company has built the clinical network, regulatory position and manufacturing base that leadership in the field requires.
