FDA cleared the combined use of Solventum's Restrata Synthetic Electrospun Fiber Matrix and the company's V.A.C. Therapy, Solventum said on October 19. The clearance names the V.A.C. Ulta Therapy Unit, the V.A.C. Peel and Place Dressing and Kit, and the V.A.C. Granufoam Dressing and Kit.
Restrata came to Solventum with Acera Surgical, which it bought in December 2025. The matrix is fully synthetic and resorbable, and it degrades by hydrolysis rather than enzymatically. V.A.C. Therapy applies negative pressure to the wound bed. Solventum says the Peel and Place dressing holds the matrix in close contact with the wound and can stay in place for up to seven days per application.
Solventum released no K number and no clinical outcome data with the announcement. Adding a combination claim to the labels of two products a company already sells is a routine submission, and it is usually what makes an acquired product sellable alongside an installed base of capital equipment.
