Synchron raised $200 million in a Series D announced November 6, 2025. Double Point Ventures led. Existing investors ARCH Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, NTI and METIS returned. New backers included the Australian National Reconstruction Fund, T.Rx Capital, Qatar Investment Authority, K5 Global, Protocol Labs and IQT. Total funding stands at $345 million.
The Stentrode is a stent-mounted electrode array delivered by catheter through the blood vessels. It sits in a vessel over the motor cortex, so implantation is endovascular rather than a craniotomy. It carries 16 electrodes, against 1,024 on Neuralink's N1, per MedTech Dive. Ten patients with paralysis have been implanted across U.S. and Australian studies, including the U.S. COMMAND early feasibility study.
The money funds late-stage trials and commercial launch preparation for the first-generation system, plus a next-generation transcatheter interface with far more channels. Synchron is also expanding its cognitive AI team in New York and its engineering hub in San Diego. Fewer channels is the price of a catheter implant; the bet is that a device neurointerventionalists can already place will reach patients sooner.
