Ambu agreed to buy TIMS Medical for $45 million in cash, with up to $20 million more tied to milestones. The deal is worth up to $65 million.
TIMS Medical is the finished-device division of Foresight Imaging, a Chelmsford, Massachusetts company founded in 1999. The division started in 2004 and sells imaging capture, connectivity and reporting systems for endoscopy, modified barium swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing. Ambu puts the installed base at roughly 7,000 US hospital sites.
Ambu says the purchase feeds its EndoIntelligence agenda, which pairs its single-use endoscopes with software and AI across endoscopy applications. The Danish company left its 2025/26 outlook unchanged after the announcement.
Ambu is paying for the installed base more than the hardware. Seven thousand sites already run this software inside their imaging workflow, and Ambu scopes now have somewhere to plug in.
