BRAINBox Solutions has signed a commercial supply agreement with Prolight Diagnostics for Psyros instruments and cartridges, announced September 14. Terms were not disclosed.
BRAINBox sells a composite traumatic brain injury score built from blood biomarkers plus digital neurocognitive testing. The biomarker half has needed a lab. Psyros is a digital immunoassay that counts single molecules from a drop of blood and reads down to single-digit ng/L, which is the sensitivity required to move the test to the bedside.
A feasibility study ran 260 patient samples from the HeadSMART II trial on the Psyros platform, and the companies reported excellent performance. CEO Donna Edmonds called the agreement a step toward commercialization. The Richmond, Virginia company has not given a launch date.
