Precera Medical buys Additive Metal Services to bring metal injection molding in house

Precera Medical bought Additive Metal Services of Port Huron, Michigan, announced September 10. Terms were not disclosed. It is the first acquisition for Precera, which SK Capital created in November 2025 by carving LISI Group's medical division out of its parent.

Additive Metal Services runs metal injection molding and sinter-based additive manufacturing. Precera already sold design, rapid prototyping, precision machining, micro-feature work and finished assembly. Chief executive Dylan Hushka named robotic surgery end effectors and distal components for interventional catheters as the parts the combination is aimed at.

Anyone who has tried to get a small, complex metal part off a prototype bench and into a validated production run knows the queue at a MIM supplier is the schedule. Precera bought the capacity rather than booking it. That is the part of this deal that reaches startup customers.
